'NCIS' Season 9 Episode 20 'The Missionary Position' Preview: A Rescue Mission and More Dr. Ryan

NCIS season 9 continues next week with episode 20, "The Missionary Position," which will be introducing a character from Ziva's past and will also bring back Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Samantha Ryan.

"Following the murder of a Marine, Tony and Ziva join Ziva's longtime friend and mentor in Columbia in a search for a missing Marine Lieutenant and Navy Chaplain. Meanwhile, Jimmy Palmer decides who will be his best man."

With Curtis back as Dr. Ryan, it certainly looks like things are getting serious for Gibbs, and you have to be happy for him. After all, he's suffered enough tragedy and had enough failed relationships in his life. While no one will ever be what Shannon was to him, he deserves to be happy, and it looks like Samantha is the one for him, at least for now. You never know what the future holds.

The NCIS season 9 episode 20 promo for "The Missionary Position" (below) shows Jimmy showing off a suit to the others, and Ziva's reaction says it all. McGee's going to be running down a suspect, but it turns out a garbage can lid comes in handy. They find out that there's a Chaplain missing, and Gibbs wants to know, "Who guided our people into cartel territory?" Will Tony and Ziva be able to bring the Chaplain home? They're going to face some danger in the process, and Samantha tells Gibbs, "Smells like trouble to me. Bring your team home." It looks like she's right, because there's going to be a drive-by shooting in Columbia. Will someone end up injured on this rescue mission?

This episode is going to feature some moments that fans have been waiting for. There's Jimmy picking his best man. Anyone would be a good choice, and each would bring something different to the table. Hopefully whomever he chooses advises him against that suit. There's meeting Ziva's mentor, which means likely learning more about Ziva in the process. There's the excitement of a rescue mission. There's more of Gibbs and Samantha. After a week without a new episode, it looks like they're going to be giving fans a jam-packed episode.
