The Killing season 2 has started off with the partnership between Sarah and Holder splintered—and for good reason. He's obviously torn between what's right and what's wrong right now and solving Rosie's murder. What's next for him?
Season 2 Spoilers
According to TVLine, Joel Kinnaman has said, "As you know from the first season, Holder's sister put a ban on him because he messed up so fatally when he was doing drugs. He's been banned from [seeing] his nephew, and we'll see [where things stand with that] when they get in contact again. It's going to be heart-wrenching." Marin Ireland is going to be playing Liz, Holder's sister, and it's possible that she'll end up being a recurring character.
Where will Holder be when she appears? Will he get to spend time with his nephew? Will he get too deep into this case? The new lieutenant, Carlson, whom Sarah obviously doesn't get along with, as seen in The Killing "Numb" sneak peek from next week's episode, didn't give her much of a choice but to work with Holder on the case, even though she clearly doesn't want to. It's obvious she doesn't trust Holder—and you can't blame her—since she refused to let him into her motel room, going so far as to tell her son to hide in the bathroom. How things are between Holder and Sarah could obviously have a big impact on how he's doing and whether or not Liz will let him see his nephew. Considering everything going on, it wouldn't be too surprising if Holder's tempted to turn back to drugs, but hopefully he can stay strong, especially since it's unclear who to trust and just what happened to Rosie.
