Bones season 7 continues next week with episode 8, "The Bump in the Road," which will show Brennan back at work after giving birth to Christine Angela, and the team dealing with the death of an extreme couponer.
Season 7 Episode 8 "The Bump in the Road" Clips
Sometimes parents go over-the-top when leaving their children when they're young, especially when they're babies. They also may think they see things that can't be possible yet about their babies' development. And Hodgins may always see conspiracies everywhere he looks. Well, all those things are present in the sneak peeks that have been released from next week's episode.
The first "The Bump in the Road" sneak peek (below) reveals that six weeks have passed since episode 7, "The Prisoner in the Pipe." Brennan's heading back to work, and that means that Christine's heading to daycare at the Jeffersonian. As Booth holds Christine, he insists that she winked at him, but Brennan says she must have something in her eye because she's too young. Booth thinks she's just like Brennan, "brilliant and crazy about [him]." Brennan's nervous about leaving Christine in daycare, and Booth reassures her that's just because she's her mother and it's her first day back. After going over the shopping list one more time, Brennan, with Christine in her arms, heads for the door, and says Christine winked at her, calling her "very advanced" like she knew she would be. You have to love that even Brennan's not immune to some things that new parents do, even if she tries to rationalize it away at first. It's an adorable family scene, and Christine is adorable.
In the second Bones season 7 episode 8 clip (below), Cam asks Brennan how it feels to be back, and Brennan tells her she's confident in the daycare center since Booth used FBI resources to check the director out. It also helps that Brennan told the director she could have her fired if she didn't send her photos of Christine every half hour. While Brennan's showing off a photo to Cam, Booth takes the chance to brag about Christine, adding that she can wink. They do get back to the case—they are at the crime scene, after all—and Cam thinks it's a hit and run, but Brennan notes that the skull's missing and signs indicate the victim's head was removed before she was left on the road. She takes a photo to send to Finn, but she accidentally sends it to the daycare director. You can already tell Brennan's not going to be on the daycare director's list of favorite parents.
The third sneak peek (below) features Angela and Hodgins looking at papers found on the victim, in her pockets and her bra. Hodgins, unsurprisingly, thinks there are secrets on them since they were in her bra, and his mind immediately goes to "conspiracy!" Thanks to one of Angela's machines, they discover they're actually coupons, and Angela takes the opportunity to mock Hodgins a bit. It's fun to see the couple working together, and it's always amusing when someone takes the chance to mock Hodgins for his conspiracy theories.
