My friend, you have inspired me, this year instead of hiding away to contemplate, I'm going to write something about my mother who passed away at this time many years ago!
This poem is full of the anguish and dismay that you feel, yet it speaks of continuing with life despite this. You are a wonderful writer, David.

Beautiful even in its darkness. Sorry for the loss of your sister, David-that is very hard and not sure we can be fully prepared no matter what we know of the departed one's final destination-it still feels like an amputation has been done.

I figured that you had been there before, David. I lost the three women friends to whom I had been closest in my life (and 2 of them in their 50's) all within the span of about 5 years. I also lost both parents when each of them had turned 70. Fortunately all 5 of my sibs are living (ages 51-71) but none live less than 7 hours drive from me.
