Oatmeal contains a special strand of fiber called beta-glucan that many studies have shown to reduce levels of bad cholesterol—and as high cholesterol is a major risk factor associated with heart disease and strokes.  A daily bowl of oatmeal could be a life saver and cinnamon is another addition to lowering cholesterol so here's a bonus in this recipe! A daily dose of three grams of fiber, the amount found in one bowl of oatmeal, can lower cholesterol by up to 23 percent and reduce the risk of heat disease by almost half. If you have read many of my articles on apples, studies also show eating two raw apples a day could also lower cholesterol, it's number one on the top healthiest foods! |

It calls for 2 cups low-fat 1% milk
Then you say: After it's cooked add 1/2 cup 1% milk
But the instructions say: Pour everything but the milk into a crockpot. Cook on low overnight, up to 6 or 6 1/2 hours, stir in the milk just before serving.
If you pour only the oats, honey, margarine*/oil and the fruit and nuts, what provides enough moisture for it to cook that long?
*I don't use margarine at all.
I will definitely be making this ...I will wait until this coming week when I go back to store to get the apples...I will be using pecans from my freezer...
