Baseball is back in Los Angeles as the LA Dodgers have finally solved their financial problems with a group led by former NBA great Magic Johnson buying the MLB team and now it is on to business and winning championships.
One of the first moves the team could make is adding some star power and the latest rumor from Bleacher Report suggests they make a run at All-Star pitcher Cole Hamels. The former first round draft pick is in the last year of his contract with Philadelphia and a move back to Southern California where he grew up is possible for the 28-year-old.
Hamels is 74-54 in his six-year career with an outstanding 3.39 ERA and adding with last year's Cy Young Award winner would give the LA Dodgers a dynamic one-two punch at the top of their rotation.
The team needs to add some big name players to make back the $2 billion they spent and TV revenue is the best option to recoup that money and making the team worth watching will become top priority. Look for this MLB team to finally get back on track with the new ownership and again become one of the elite franchises in baseball.
