The Vampire Diaries season 3 continues this week with episode 18, "The Murder of One," and while the focus is still on killing the Originals, one of said Originals has her own plan for revenge.

Just because they have those white oak stakes doesn't mean it's going to be so easy to use them even though they do have an advantage since Klaus and Rebekah don't know that they have them. However, since Klaus has Bonnie captive and is forcing her to do a spell for them, will that ruin their plans?
In the latest The Vampire Diaries season 3 episode 18 preview for "The Murder of One" from executive producer Julie Plec (below), Stefan gives one of the stakes they're making back to Damon to make sharper—after all, the last thing they want is a dull stake to ruin their plans. Plec reminds fans of the link that binds the Originals together: "if one dies, they all die." Does he have Bonnie trying to break that link? Is that spell he's forcing her to perform? However, just because killing one Original kills the others, that doesn't mean it makes things so easy for them, even with those white oak stakes, as Plec says, "All our heroes have to do is get one of them, which is harder than it looks."
Then there's Rebekah's torture of Damon, which has been shown in photos and promos already. She's "a little furious and a little scorned and a little used and abused" after the events of "Break On Through," and because of that she "decides to punish him for his misdeeds." That means chaining him up, leaving him "unavailable to participate in the murderous plan." Julie Plec says, "the phrase hell hath no fury like a woman scorned definitely applies to Rebekah." She lets Klaus know she has "unfinished business" with the Salvatore, and Klaus even joins her once she has Damon tied up, but she doesn't need any of his suggestions: "I'm perfectly capable of inflicting pain, thank you very much." Klaus' response shows just why, even though he's a serial killer and has been tormenting Mystic Falls, you love having him around and don't want him dead just quite yet: "Oh well, excuse me, it's not like I have any expertise in the matter."
