Glee season 3 is heading towards some of the characters graduating at the end of the year, having established a group as seniors. Some of the seniors already know where they want to go next, such as Kurt and Rachel to NYADA, and the latest casting news is all about that.
Season 3 Spoilers
According to TVLine, Whoopi Goldberg is going to be guest starring in "roughly three episodes," beginning with the May 1 episode, as "Carmen Tibideaux, a theatrical grande dame and a professor at New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts (NYADA) who travels to Ohio to preside over Kurt and Rachel's auditions—and apparently she sticks around long enough to deliver a verdict."
Earlier this season, it was revealed that Kurt and Rachel were finalists for NYADA, but that doesn't mean they're guaranteed spots next year. It's still going to be a tough process, and it's always possible that Carmen Tibideaux only chooses one of them. Whatever those decisions end up being, this should be a big arc for these two seniors, and perhaps it will also be a time when they have to consider other options for their futures if NYADA doesn't work out.
With the news that graduating doesn't mean those characters are necessarily leaving the show, they could choose to go any way with the upcoming auditions. Either way, it sounds like Whoopi Goldberg's character is going to be a big one for Glee this season, especially Kurt and Rachel, so it makes sense they'd get a big name like this. Besides, aren't you excited to see her tell Kurt and Rachel whether they're going to be going to NYADA?
Are you looking forward to seeing Whoopi Goldberg in Glee season 3? What do you think will be the outcome of Kurt and Rachel's NYADA auditions?
