However, the good news is India also participated in the Games. Aanchal Thakur, 15 year old from Manali, Himachal Pradesh was India's sole representative finished at the 23th slalom and 43rd in giant slalom. Aanchal has been skiing and has won several awards in the Nationals. "I owe it to my father who trained me and open international opportunities for me." she told Chandigarh Tribune.
India sent three athletes to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and may sent Aanchal to the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. So, don't be surprised if India the country wins and not the skier.
