Dancing with the Stars 2012 continued on March 26 with the 12 celebrity/professional couples as they tackled either the Jive or the Quickstep. Although Family Matters actor Jaleel White impressed during week one, his week two offering with partner Kym Johnson was a little more Steve Urkel than Stefan Urquelle, and it landed the pair in the middle of the pack.
During rehearsals, Kym put extra pressure on Jaleel to perfect their Jive and retain their leaderboard topping status.
When showtime rolled around, Jaleel and Kym hit the ballroom to the tune of Bruno Mars' "Marry You". Their diner-themed number was cute, but Jaleel's moves lacked the crispness and precision that made their week one Foxtrot so memorable.
Although DWTS head judge Len Goodman liked "parts" of the dance, he also complained about a lack of "real attack and speed." Bruno Tonioli quipped that they could "cook a really good dish" and said he enjoyed it. Carrie Ann Inaba thought that the dance was "solid" but lacked "extra sparkle." She told Jaleel to work on fixing his footwork in the weeks to come.
Jaleel and Kym earned 22 points for their performance, representing a four-point drop from their week one mark of 26. They enter Tuesday's elimination show in good position to advance to the next round of the competition.
