Â
I have some ripe peppers I harvested from a small potted plant I received from a friend the Fall of 2011 at our Self Sufficiency gathering and potluck.
When asked, he said they were Cubanelle peppers, but doing a search on cubanelles, I got these conflicting descriptions back:
The ones I have are nothing like any shown in the above links - I am attaching a photo of mine below.
I am saving them for seed and some are not at their best looking right now... I put a teaspoon by them to show size comparison.
Some people have said they look like jalapeños, but jalapeños are hot and these aren't.
Can anyone tell me what kind of peppers I have?

I say Fresno but Fresno's are normally a tiny bit spicy. That is what they look like to Chile-Head me!
Congratulations!
I hope you have an opportunity to check out the other spotlighted posts and photos as well.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
ACONCAGUA - sweet; Cubanelle/Italian Frying Type; 7 to 10 inches long by 2 to 2.5 inches wide; medium thick flesh; matures from pale green to red; pendant pods; light green leaves; 24 to 30 inches tall; Mid Season; Uses: Large Stuffing, Roasting, Fried/Stir-Fried; C.annuum.
They do look just like those in your link!
Birdie Jaworski sent me some dried New Mexico medium chilis that I use all the time, because they are not hot, not too hot..
From the looks of them I would guess Veggie Red Chile is the best choice. The Veggie Chile Red peppers "vary slightly in size and have a thick glossy flesh. They offer a mildly warm vegetable flavor. This attractive smooth-skinned chile may have a blunt end or be slightly pointed. Zesty Red Veggie chilies add their somewhat gentle and warm taste to soups, stews, relishes, dips, casseroles and meat and poultry dishes. Stuff with any type of filling. Bake until just tender. Sauté with ho-hum vegetables for piquancy."
Does that sound like what you have? If not, I have no idea what they are.
Could it be the Cherry Pepper in this file: Scoville 100-500
