brief movie opinion: Sucker Punch

I appreciate the live action comic book genre. Sucker Punch is excellent -- gorgeous, high adrenalin, a psychedelic experience with a dark and brooding hangover. To my mind it is a much better film than The Black Swan, which it reminds me of to that movie's detriment. I am so sick of the ubiquitous blow 'em up, plotless action adventure crap. Sucker Punch is not one of those. It is a metafiction of story within story within story -- all of which rock. And Jena Malone is so much more an actress than Natalie Portman will ever even understand.

Interesting - though Nathalie Portman is a very beautiful woman :-)) Will keep an eye open for this one :-)

Sucker Punch was awkward... The cinematography was brilliant, but I couldn't shake a weird off-putting feeling during the film.

The title really turns me off to watching it. I may see it some day.
