As we all know, Tim Tebow officially became a New York Jet Saturday afternoon. Leading up to this deal there were a lot of mixed feeling going around with everybody involved. Although the deal is now official and Tebow is a Jet there is still a lot of confusion as to how the Jets were decided upon, What Tebow's role on the team will be, and how Mark Sanchez will deal with this added pressure. Two of the three will without a doubt be clarified during Monday's afternoon press conference.
The Main Topic of Discussion:
1. Who is telling the truth? Tebow says he had no clue where he was being traded to and John Elway says that Tebow was being called and informed every step of the way. Choosing the Jets himself.
2. What can Tim Tebow bring to the New York Jets offense?
3. Does he expect to take Mark Sanchez's job and teach Mark how to hold a clipboard?
4. How will Tim Tebow deal with the vicious New York Media?
I don't think the press conference itself will be too telling as Tim Tebow knows what to say most of the time and keeps it complimentary to everybody involved.
He has a rock solid personality with media but, the NY media is a different monster and if they smell blood they will get tough with him.
The more I think about the trade the less I hate it. In retrospect the Jets gave Drew Stanton and a fourth rounder for Tim Tebow. If he can bring a spark to your team and do what he was brought in for it was a value. If it turns out to not work like most people think at least you didn't give up too much to get him.
