The LA Lakers made one change to their roster at the NBA trade deadline, but for this team to win in the future, more changes need to be made. With several quality free agents available this off-season and a few players they could use in a trade, the possibilities are endless, but here is a look at what players could be wearing the purple and gold next season.
Dwight Howard is still a member of the Orlando Magic, but the LA Lakers are known to have their sights on the big man, and the team could make a hard push to acquire the All-Star center. Howard wants to win and what better place than Los Angeles to continue his career and win some championships.
The team needed a point guard and made a deal for Ramon Sessions, but the team will need to add a couple small forwards for next year. Matt Barnes is a free agent and the team has struggled at the three spot all season. Landry Fields is a quality player and the NY Knicks small forward is a free agent after this season, making him a target of the front office.
Another big move the team could make is signing Deron Williams this off-season. Adding Williams and Howard seems like a tall task, but the Lakers have the pieces needed to make a trade and would have the salary cap space to keep them together with Kobe Bryant until he retires.
The NBA has become a league of haves and have-nots and for this team to continue their winning tradition, changes will be needed and don't be surprised if the LA Lakers have a totally different look to their roster for the 2012-12 season.
