My dad shared this the other day and it brought tears to my eyes. You guys know my mom, who is 52, is suffering from dementia. She knows who we all are, but has no clue how to brush her teeth, or even wipe her behind with toilet paper. So my dad said the other night after a particularly hard day with my mom, after he had given her a bath (he has to wash her himself from head to toe) he finally got her into bed while he himself was exhausted. As he tucked her in she looked up and said to him, "I'm glad God gave you to me."
And it is things like that that keep him going. Encouraging words from others, little snippets of the good heart my mom had (she still does, but the dementia has made her cranky and sometimes plain mean), and prayers to the Lord. I thought it was worth sharing. Thanks for listening!

Thanks you so much for sharing with Sadies Points
When I took care of my late mother, after I changed her adult briefs she would say, "I love you" to me. She didn't know who I was, but she knew she loved me.
