Angelina Jolie just can't seem to make up her mind about "leg-gate." Initial reports claimed the Salt star and her light of love, Brad Pitt laughed at the controversy caused by her provocative right leg-baring pose at the Oscars. Later reports said she was angered by it. Still later ones claimed she created leg-gate as a deliberate diss to George Clooney's leggy ex-wrestler girlfriend, Stacy Keibler. Or not. Shortly thereafter, she was reportedly so depressed by the negative leg-gate press that she was smoking like a chimney and boozing like a frat boy on spring break. So what's the real story? Who knows? However, the latest installment in the saga has Angie swearing that she never paid any attention to controversy. That through it all, she remained pretty much oblivious.
Yes, for the first time since that now infamous evening, Angelina Jolie has spoken out about her "right leg incident" at the Oscars. In an interview with the Huffington Post, she feigned—er—claimed total ignorance of the whole affair.
"I honestly didn't pay attention to it," Angie revealed. "I don't watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don't click on it. And the people I surround myself with don't really talk about that kind of stuff."
So, there you have it. Or not. Instead of zipping her lip and quitting while she was ahead, the In the Land of Blood and Honey director prattled on.
"I heard something," she continued, adding: "but I didn't pay any attention. It's as simple as a being a woman picking a dress you like and having a night, and not really thinking about anything else."
So, there you have it. Straight from the legs—er—Angelina's mouth. It seems her final answer is: She had no idea that there was such a thing as leg-gate, and even though she heard some vague rumors about such a phenomenon, she ignored them.
Right. Well, hopefully that settles things once and for all. Of course, people who buy her story might want to look into the latest deals on Florida swampland—not to mention that bridge in New York.
Seriously, it seems Angelina Jolie is either in a state of denial or she's just trying to put the incident behind her. And that's probably best. It was just a storm in a teacup anyway.
Note: Wonder if Angelina's leg will close its Twitter account now?
