The Trayvon Martin case has caused outrage in Florida, the U.S. and around the world. Now, after the Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee stepped aside, the governor has appointed a new prosecutor to investigate the shooting. Angela B. Corey is the new prosecutor after Norman Wolfinger stepped down.
The eight 911 calls released caused most people who heard them to believe that George Zimmerman should be arrested for Trayvon Martin's death. Are you one of them? Part of the reason that Zimmerman was not arrested is because of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law. Do you believe that Zimmerman applied the law appropriately when he shot the teen? The 911 calls certainly seem to paint a different picture.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott released a statement that said a task force was started "to investigate how to make sure a tragedy such as this does not occur in the future, while at the same time, protecting the fundamental rights of all our citizens - especially the right to feel protected and safe in our state."
The chair of the new task force on the Trayvon Martin case is Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. Do you think that this task force could help make sure nothing like this ever happens again in Florida?
It is such an unbelievable case, and it seems like it will be impossible to find justice for Trayvon. His pictures show such a light and life, and that is gone forever, which is unbelievably tragic for his family, friends, the state and the country. That something like this could happen is unfathomable. Would anything feel just to you?

Much depends on the grand jury. We don't need another O.J. trial in which a guilty party escapes punishment. We need an investigation which renews our faith in American justice and steers us away from racial animosity.
