Genre Shorties Prompt -- Week 101
In honor of the 100th Shortie, I gave you a week off.
(Or, I totally lost track of the week, and then it was nearly over. Pick the one you like better, and enjoy this *early* posting for the week.) (Of course, if you're like me and not getting any email notifications from Gather AGAIN, you may never know.)
Let's keep it simple this time around ...
Write about anything you want in any form you want. The only rule other than keeping it to 100 words is that you must mention SHAKESPEARE.
That was easy. Go!
THE REAL STORY
© 2012 by David Wainland
100 words
“Hey, Jules, there’s some dude here wants to meet ya.”
“What’s his name?”
“Bill Shakespeare, here to do a story on ya.”
“What paper is he with?”
“The Stratford on Avon Courier.”
“O.K, Brutus, pat him down and send him in after I finish with Cleo. Her ship needs to make the tide.”
*****
“You, Bill?
“Yup, you big Julius?”
“The one and only, what can I do for you?”
“Well first I bring tribute, a little inside news.”
“What’s that?”
“They got a contract out on you.”
“Don’t believe it boss.”
“Julius, Brutus is one of them.”
“Et tu Brute?”
