It would seem that there is a trend in the US at the moment to follow British bands, and it is not only One Direction that are enjoying success. The Wanted have also received a warm welcome in the US, as they were practically mobbed when they landed at LAX.
The group--Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran and Tom Parker--were surrounded by fans. Success has not gone to their heads though, as they were quite happy to mix with their fans and talk to them. They also willingly posed for photographs and signed autographs. It makes ta nice change to find celebrities that remember that their fans are the reason for their success.
The boys took to Twitter to thank their US fans. George tweeted, "Great seeing all the fans at LAX....... WHAT A WELCOME THAT WAS!" While his band mate Jay tweeted, "Big cheers to the fans at the airport/hotel! You're better company than our tour manager by faaaaaaaar!"
Their success in the US got a boost when one of their singles featured on an episode of Glee. They have already outshone the success of Take That in the US and their fan base could increase further as they will appear on Jay Leno tonight.
With both One Direction and The Wanted achieving such success in the US, there could soon be a healthy rivalry between the two groups. That could be interesting!
