Well today is the day my Mom's BF goes in for his surgery... We are leaving at 3 am so I am not even going to bed, why bother? Just showered and got a an hour or so to blow off so I will be viewing lots =) LOL
I am taking my homework with me, so that will keep me busy, or just piss me off, we will see what chapters 4 & 5 bring! Not taking my laptop because they don't have WiFi at VA Hospital so there is no need to lug it around and take a chance of dropping it, I know they are portable but mine is a 17 inch and it gets heavy for me to carry.
I learned my lesson last year, my mom spent a couple nights in the hospital for a minor infection and she wanted her netbook to pass the time because the hospital she was in had free WiFi. I packed mine up as well to work on my homework while sitting with her. Well after driving her car to the hospital, it was only a 30 minute ride and I am ok to drive for about an hour before the numbness and tingling sets into the feet, walking from the parking garage and through the hospital to her room with two computer bags and my bag with my textbook in it my legs were a little weak. After walking around the nurses station twice lost on the ward, someone showed me to her room, and the door was closed so I went back to the desk to inquire why the door was closed and mid sentence my leg gave out and I fell backwards, flat on my ass with both computers slung over my shoulder!!!! Talk about mortified, OMG!!!! I had nurses running to me to make sure I was ok, and I was fine, I was more worried about the computers.... they were all grilling me - "Did you hit your head?" "Are you diabetic?" "Has this happened before?" "Do you need to go to the ER?" So by the time I got my mortified ass off the floor I was almost in tears... Had a nurse make me sit in a rolling office chair, she wheeled me to the waiting room, got me a drink and a cold cloth for my head because I was sweating like a hog... Another nurse carried my baggage down for me and they said they would come get me when it was ok to go in my mother's room, and Yep they forgot about me.. after inspecting both computers, which were fine, I finished drinking my cold drink and had read about 12 pages in my text book I packed up my stuff and walked to my mother's room, they never even told her I was there! Aside from that - she was pleased with her care, and I guess the patient is the most important!
So maybe later today I will have a story to tell... who knows...
