Tom Hanks and Glenn Frey: 21st Century Minstrels

Video of Tom Hanks and Glenn Frey participating in a blackface routine and mocking diversity at a pricey private school has surfaced. 

Glenn Frey: Hotel California, or Roach Motel?

They have both been accused of hate crimes before, Hanks for stealing Bill Murray's schtick and Frey for inflicting "Hotel California" on PBS viewers during pledge week.  Will this latest shocker end their careers?

For this scene alone, Hanks deserves the obloquy of all right-thinking men.

Probably not.  In fact, Hanks is the narrator of a video for the Obama campaign, and Frey is a notorious buttinsky, campaigning against a recycling facility--recycling!--that he thought was too close to Walden Pond, where 19th century pious fraud Henry David Thoreau communed with nature,  or at least said he did; he went home to his parents' place on weekends to do laundry, etc.

Thoreau's place at Walden Pond: A nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.

The hypocrites, as a political disc jockey might say, just keep on coming.
