The Vampire Diaries season 3 continues this week with episode 17, "Break On Through," and it looks like the upcoming episodes will feature hope for Bonnie's love life and the future for Abby as she faces life as a vampire.
Vampire Diaries Season 3 Episode 17 "Break On Through" Spoilers
Bonnie hasn't had the best luck in her love life. Most recently, there was Jeremy, who ended up kissing his ghost ex, and then left town for Denver after Elena had Damon compel him. Jeremy will be returning to Mystic Falls, but will there be a chance for him and Bonnie to start things up again or even think about getting back together? She may be too busy with a new guy in her life, as Kat Graham has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Robert Richard is returning as Jamie and as a new love interest for Bonnie. She called it "really exciting to see that develop." Is this going to be Bonnie's chance for happiness without something dragging it all down for her? How long will this last? Will it, or will it go the way relationships seem to in this town? Bonnie's going to need someone to lean on, considering what's going on with her mother, and Jamie could be that guy for now.
Also going on in this week's The Vampire Diaries, "Break On Through," is Caroline helping Abby with her transition to a vampire, as Candice Accola explains she's doing "what she can to make it smoother than her own." Caroline was the right person for Bonnie to turn to, and it's good that Abby's going to have her to help her through this. Caroline may not have been able to convince her father to go through with the transition, but at least she'll be there for her friend's mother through this tough time. With the other vampires of the town busy with the Originals and now the darkness in Alaric, she's pretty much the only one left—which works out perfectly—to help Abby. Plus, for now, it keeps her out of the path of destruction that will most likely ultimately lead to tragedy. Is that going to be what initially brings Jamie back into the picture—the woman who took care of him becoming a vampire? Will he and Bonnie grow closer because of this experience as they wait to see how Abby handles becoming a vampire?
