A Missouri mother gunned down her own children before turning the gun on herself in a tragic murder-suicide. Over the weekend, the body of 37-year-old Christine Adewunmi and her three daughters were discovered about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis in a campground in Bourbon.
The bodies of the mother and her three children, ages eight, six and three, were discovered on Saturday and their names were not immediately released until recently. It's tragic that this has occurred and there are many, many questions that are in need of answers regarding this case. What could push a woman to murder her own children before committing suicide? Why get the children involved in such a permanent escape? They did not deserve this.
This comes just a little over a month after Josh Powell took his sons' lives before taking his own and it's one of several other reported cases over the past year of familial homicide-suicide. It's terrifying to think that any mother could snap and make these kind of drastic choices. Now there are three more young children in the news who suffered a fate that nobody should experience.
