Friday Writing Essentials: Some Gather Writers

I’m lazy and I know it

A little selfish I admit

My time I portion out just so

Hoard for words not written yet

So I’m humbled by some Gather folk

My admiration you won’t believe

Who give their time, chairing GWE

So our posts we can conceive

This verse is just to tell you all

Thanks a lot for the time you’ve spent

And I hope a thanks is good enough

I’ve already spent my last red cent

Oh my gosh. This is wonderful and I so totally agree with you on the GWE members. I don't believe I could do without them now that I've found them.

It makes me feel better knowing that Len is still insecure... I've been doing this for nine or so months, and still feel very much like I'm fumbling in the dark, in the shadows of great editors.

So very well done, Richard. The first two lines describe me: lazy and somewhat selfish. The first line of your second stanza also describes my feelings about the writers and the talent I've encountered on Gather.

I truly enjoy reading the posts of people who just want to improve their craft, Len, and the prompts have helped me at times to break out from a case of writers block. My best, one page stories have come from therompts you and others have put forward.

I only wear it while serving at our annual Employee Appreciation Breakfast. This year, one of the many offerings was a veggie benedict, with an avocado slice in place of Canadian bacon and livened up with salsa and chopped green onions.
