The Walking Dead season 2 comes to an end this weekend with episode 13, "Beside the Dying Fire," and besides the fact that there's an incoming herd of walkers, they also have to figure out what it means that Randall and Shane became walkers without being bit.
Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 13 "Beside the Dying Fire" Spoilers
According to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Glen Mazzara has revealed "There's more bloodshed coming." The group has already lost Dale and Shane just in the last two episodes, so not only did they lose friends, they lost two more people who could help kill the walkers. With the number of walkers heading their way and the number of people who are in dangerous situations in the promos that have been released, it would be odd if everyone lived through the fight. The group has realized that they're not "safe on this farm," and it does look like they're leaving the farm behind based on promos and photos that have been released.
The Walking Dead season 2 finale will also feature "answers about the nature of the virus." Daryl and Glenn realized that Randall hadn't been bitten—he died from his neck being snapped—yet he turned into a walker. Meanwhile, Rick knew that Shane hadn't been bit since he was with him and he was the one to kill him. It doesn't look like they're going to have much time to discuss it right away, with walkers following them back to the farm, but it is something that they're going to have to talk about—and it's not something Rick can just keep secret for now since Daryl and Glenn saw Randall.
