Down on the waterfront not to far from my daughter's home is a wonderful little restaurant. It's a favorite for all the teachers and their families that live in the area. Dom is a friendly man that talks a lot about his family and new baby. He meets each custiomer with a cheek rub for the guys and kisses the ladies left hand. He and his crew of 2 make all the food from scratch and it is the best ever. He makes time to visit with everyone and when you leave you feel you've made a real friend.
We had eaten there a couple of times and the last night I was in town we went there again. He was sorry I was leaving and made us some special dishes. He wanted a picture before we left and said I must have some Italian in me to have such a big family.
I was holding the handle of the pizza shovel by the oven with Dom.
I forget what this is called but it's a favorite of my daughters. Thinly sliced meat with salad, black olives and Buffalo Mozzarella.
Lots of good wine.
These were stuffed with cheese and veggies. So good.
Stuffed crust pizza, a meal in itself.
I don't know what they used to flavor this but it was so good.
Dessert, chocolate filled melt in your mouth good.
A last hug and we headed home. This was Thursday night. We were to spend the next 2 days in Rome before I came home Sunday morning.
