Twenty-seven-year old Danielle Slaughter was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday night after she was seen running naked in the streets, streaked with blood. The crazed woman had just committed perhaps one of the most grisly acts a person could commit. She murdered her 6-year-old daughter.
When Danielle Slaughter was apprehended by Las Vegas Metro Police, she appeared to have been in a dazed and disoriented state. Police and witnesses say that she was referring to the blood streaking her naked body as "the blood of the lamb."
She also started expressing disbelief in her own actions, asking the police:
"Did I kill my daughter? Is she dead?"
According to the 27-year-old mother, 6-year-old Kyla Franks took on the persona of an "evil presence" and started laughing at her in a strange voice before attacking her. She decided that the only way to deal with the child was to stab her to death with a pair of scissors.
Danielle had been taking the weight loss supplement known as Hydroxycut for almost a week before she was arrested for the brutal murder of her child. The FDA has urged against using the supplement due to the possibility that it can damage your internal organs. However, there are varying side effects to this drug that include confusion, insomnia and irritability. As one source states, these are all effects that can be attributed to "having a bad day," but could these side effects give you hallucinations and set you into momentary insanity?
Danielle claimed to have been having a hard time sleeping since taking the weight loss supplement, which any normal person could understand that this is due to the stimulant properties in it. Like most weight loss and appetite suppressants, you can become jittery and wide-awake as though you're on illegal speed or caffeine pills. Perhaps the young mother is suffering from an undiagnosed mental condition which became inflamed by the use of Hydroxycut. If that is so, she may wind up getting out of this lightly. However, it could be possible that this was simply the brutal murder of a child, and for that Danielle Slaughter deserves a fitting punishment.
