How Long Does Everyone Spend on Gather Everyday?

I'm just curious.  I could spend hours here every day.  Actually I have every day this week so far.  Is this normal?   I'm terrible at leaving comments also but I see that everyone leaves some kind of comment even if it's just to say thanks.  Am I just a really slow reader?  Should I be going through posts a little faster and put any commment on there just to say I was there?  I don't get through a lot of posts but I really enjoy the ones I do read.  I really love looking at pictures but this website is sooooooo slow that it takes forever to open each one.  I try opening like 20 tabs at a time so they  have a few minutes to load but I just don't seem to be getting anywhere.  Does anyone have organization tips?

I have a very limited of time to spend on here, and on the computer, overall.......if I'm lucky, I may, just may spend an hour a day or so on here. Just check out the posts that interest you....sometimes I comment, sometimes not. One can spend many hours on here....I'm just one of those who doesn't have the time.

I don't have hours to spend either. I feel like I haven't gotten anything done all week because I've been on here.

It seems like that's the thing to do, comment on everything. Sometimes I get sick of writing things like "Very nice!" over and over.. LOL

I comment first on those who comment on mine. Sometimes when someone posts lot of comments there is just not enough time and I comment on just a few. If I comment on someones several times and they don't comment back I will quit comment on theirs unless it is something really good.

I am a 20 plus windows kind of person but my internet also keeps up with me most times unless someone else is one then I scale back but if I am the only one it isn't unusual to have 30 plus windows open, as I read I comment, recommend, or leave blank as I go along. Some longer ones I bookmark to read when I have more time. My computer is on most days and you will find gather running most of the time. I take breaks between cleaning and taking care of the kids and comment and read when I can. Some days I get a lot done, somedays only a few. We are a busy family so I do what I can. Hope this helps you out a bit

I'm really busy too and I don't think I should be spending as much time here as I am. I might have to cut down next week. The multiple tabs help a lot, I always have tons open too. You almost have to do it that way with this site the way it's so slow.

I used to spend more time on Gather but still spend several hours a day here. I tend to be on late at night and the site moves along ok. I try to leave a comment but sometimes just click recommend if I want the writer to know I stopped by.

That's a good idea! And late nights seems to be a better time for me too. It's like an unwind time, leisuring reading or posting the happenings of the day to get them off my mind.

I used to spend a lot more time on Gather than I do now. Then my life changed forever August 19th 2009 and it is still in a state of unease and uncertainty and sadness. I am getting on more than I had the past 2 and half years more. But it is still hit and miss. Have times I get on and others just don't feel like it.

I had to look back to see what had happened. I'm so sorry to hear what happened to your grandson. I wouldn't imagine that life would ever be the same again. Heartbreaking. I'm glad to hear you are having some good days now and then. There's always someone here on Gather to talk to and it seems like everyday I meet more great people.

It depends on how much I have to do each day. I always have the computer on, so whenever my back tells me it's time to sit down I can get some more done. It's the only way I can keep up! :)

I was doing that yesterday. I would clean for a little while until I got tired and then I would sit down and read a few posts while resting.

I probably spend a few hours, off and on throughout the day. Sometimes (often) I'm doing other things at the same time, too.

And I say just view things at your own pace! You shouldn't view anything faster or more than you want to :) Though I agree that it's frustrating when the site gets slow!

when I was making up to $80 a month here on gather, I was here constantly. Since the point decrease it doesn't matter how long I am here it seems I am lucky to earn enough points for $10 a month. I would probably only get $20 a month if I spent the time here that I used to.
Of course, anymore it seems my time away from home is more than I am home other than sleeping time, so all of my online earning efforts are hurting.
