Another Golden State Warriors trade may be brewing and it too could include Stephen Jackson getting traded. More NBA trade rumors surrounding the Warriors and Jackson have come out Wednesday morning (March 14) as the team apparently is trying to flip Jackson to a new team shortly after acquiring him.
According to Sports Illustrated writer Sam Amick, pulling off a secondary trade would be difficult for the Warriors because of everything involved in getting it done. Amick states that, "The timing involved will be problematic for a subsequent move to be done because of the league rules in play. Players have up to 48 hours to report to their new team and pass a physical before a deal is official, meaning Bogut, Ellis, Jackson, Udoh and Brown would need to arrive in their respective cities earlier than expected and rush through the physicals in order to aid the effort."
It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for teams to get everything done if they want to complete a trade in the NBA. The Warriors just traded Monta Ellis, Kwame Brown and Ekpe Udoh for Andrew Bogut and Jackson, but Jackson was a requirement from the Milwaukee Bucks in order for the franchise to part with Bogut. This is a big reason why the Warriors would be so willing to turn around and trade Jackson again, especially because they have Klay Thompson as a possible starter at shooting guard anyway.
Jackson might have too much baggage for the Warriors to want to keep him, thus leading to the new set of NBA trade rumors floating around. It shouldn't surprise anyone if the Warriors even attempt to waive him before the season comes to a close.
Do you think that another Stephen Jackson trade will come from the Golden State Warriors before the trade deadline? Based on some of the earlier NBA trade rumors, what team would be a good fit for Jackson?
