A Pau Gasol trade from the LA Lakers may take place after all, with the new suitor being the Chicago Bulls. New NBA trade rumors are coming out of Chicago that indicate the Bulls have expressed interest in acquiring Gasol and that the team may have actually made an offer already.
According to KC Johnson at the Chicago Tribune, "Lakers have no interest in Boozer, so any trade for Gasol would have to include 3rd team. As of now, sources say #Bulls not finding one." This follows a story from Marc Stein at ESPN, who states that it is indeed Bulls forward Carlos Boozer that is getting shopped in a package of players that would bring Gasol over to Chicago.

On the surface, this trade makes no sense for the Lakers, unless the team is dedicated to getting rid of Gasol. Gasol is better than Boozer in every facet of the game, so it seems more likely to help out the Bulls by quite a bit than to even slightly help out the Lakers. Thoughts of a third team getting involved could certainly make it more interesting, though.
If the LA Lakers could somehow swing Boozer and a nice starting point guard in exchange for Gasol, then the trade would make much more sense. Maybe Chicago and Los Angeles can convince the Portland Trail Blazers to get involved, because they have pieces like Raymond Felton, Jamal Crawford, or even Gerald Wallace that could get included as part of a huge three-team deal.
Do you think that these NBA trade rumors about Pau Gasol going to the Chicago Bulls will amount to anything? Which third team would be the best to join this deal?
