Change is changing me
from the inside of my eyes
to the root of my tongue
Pushing, insistent
seeking fertile ground
I smell its warm taste
here on the outer rim
I have something
to say
or do
I am amber glass
able to soften
the garish sun
seeking to blur
my vision of
earth and sky

Thank you, no matter what the length of your comment. I always appreciate your feedback, friend.
Being made in the image of God, I believe we are meant to 'put on' the garments befitting his image...a life-long process...but I would rather suffer change than remain cocooned...I want to soar to higher places, gaining a better view of myself and the world around me. I love John the Baptist's view of himself: 'He must become greater, I must become less'. And that, no doubt, we can apply to each other as well.
Of course I love your last stanza, too. Such an insightful comment on what really matters...ever seeing more clearly what life is about.....................~
