There was a storm brewing. We hit the atmosphere like a spatula on hot lard. I knew I’d arrived when the blip on the time travel screen sounded like a cannon shot and what looked like a squashed green peas mummy turned out to be the Wicked Witch of the West.
It is Monday, August 12, 1939, 73 years before the Hulk Hogan Generation, twelve years before the birth of Speedy Alka-Seltzer, and twenty-four years before Petticoat Junction. I landed eight months before my birth (so there would not be two of me), and two days after the release of The Wizard of Oz.
Kay M is trapped in a castle with flying monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the East. I am here to save her, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. Yes me, the man behind the curtain.
"You always knew the way home, Kay. Click your heels and repeat after me."
“There‘s no place like Gather, there’s no place like Gather, there’s no place like…”
“Auntie Tracy, Auntie Tracy, where are you? I brought a cake. ”
It would behoove you to check the facts. You couldn’t pay me enough money to make this up.
