DakotaKoti (or KotaKoti? Dakota Rose?) splashed on the web just a few short months ago, but already she's an Internet icon, being revered for the otherwise useless talent of being a "real-life Barbie doll".
One of her trademark affectations was to never say a word in her videos, just to smile prettily and wave as she modeled Barbie costume after Barbie costume. After all, children should be seen and not heard, as the old saying goes.
But no more.
Addressing an issue many fans have raised, KotaKoti proves she can talk and is, contrary to popular opinion, not an android sent to Earth to control the minds of millions of slavishly devoted fans.
And what a voice! Just as expected (and hoped) she speaks in wispy, little-girl tones, mainly through her nasal, as all proper Barbie dolls should.
After dispensing with the formalities, she goes back to revealing how she attains her impossibly perfect looks with a how-to on her mini hair bow bob. All, mercifully, without a word.
But there's a dark side to all the attention.
It turns out that DakotaKoti is the younger sister of another Internet model gone glam, Kiki Kannibal, who has had some very disturbing incidents happen to her after posting her own living doll videos several years back. One would think there would be a lesson learned and passed down to a younger sibling. Apparently not.
But that's a story for a different article.
For now, just revel in the innocence of the latest Barbie doll video by an 18-year-old woman who solves one mystery, but hasn't bothered to dispel the rumor she's just 16.
It would only spoil the illusion...
