White Collar returns for its fourth season on USA Network in the summer 2012, and something that needs to be addressed is getting Neal back to New York. Two roles have been cast, and one is about just that.
Season 4 Spoilers and Casting News
It has already been revealed that Internal Affairs will be sending "their most dangerous agent" to find Neal, and now, according to Entertainment Weekly, it sounds like that role has been cast. Mekhi Phifer will be appearing as "FBI agent Kyle Collins, the Bureau's top international fugitive-hunting specialist, who is tasked with catching Neal (Matt Bomer)—at any cost." While Neal is very good at what he does, will he be able to elude Kyle Collins, whose job is to find people like him? Phifer was part of the Torchwood: Miracle Day cast as a CIA agent, so he's played a government official recently. He was good in that role, so there's no reason to think he won't be in this one as well. Will Kyle be the one to bring Neal back to New York? Could it be Peter? Will Neal end up returning on his own?
The second role that has been cast for White Collar season 4 episodes 1 and 2 is "Henry Dobbs, a wealthy local with a secret past that 'could change Neal and Mozzie's world forever.'" Gregg Henry will be playing Henry, and it's always fun to explore "a secret past," especially if it can have an effect on characters' futures. But what could it be about Henry that will affect Neal and Mozzie's world? Will that end up happening, or will it be something that stays buried? While you have to worry about what that means for the characters, it could lead to a very intriguing storyline for the rest of the season if it shakes up their world, depending what that past is.
TVLine has some more information about what's coming up in the beginning of the fourth season. Apparently, "the Season 4 premiere moves the action to sunny, lush Puerto Rico...which will be 'posing as' a yet-to-be determined remote locale." Neal did leave New York behind in the season 3 finale, and you knew they were going to be ending up somewhere like Puerto Rico. You can't blame him for not wanting to return to the city and what's waiting for him, but with Kyle after him, he may not have a choice. Also according to TVLine, Henry is going to "help Neal and Mozz lay low." Will that be when they find out what it is about him that could result in their world changing?
