There are so many new season trends it can be difficult to know where to start. The great thing about women’s shoes is that you can tap into a new trend and update your wardrobe without losing your own sense of style, or more importantly breaking the bank. Here’s a look at spring/summer’s top trends for shoes.
Nautical
At the catwalk shows designers were inspired by the ocean. Clothing was adorned with everything from tropical fish to sea horses and wave trims. This season’s footwear is no different. Opt for nautical inspired shoes in navy and white stripes for sailor chic. Or for a subtler take on the trend, go for red or navy shoes with striped bows. Pair these with indigo jeans and a simple white tee to look on-trend and effortless.
Colour
On the spring/summer catwalks there were two ways to wear colour, eye-popping brights or cutesy, pretty pastels. For those not brave enough to wear the look from head-to-toe opt for colourful shoes and accessories to breathe new life into your existing wardrobe. Any colour goes with the rainbow brights trend, from green to violet and even orange. And for pretty pastels, look for damask rose, lemon sorbet or spearmint green – colours good enough to eat!
Animal Print
This is more of a classic than a trend as animal print never seems to go out of style. But it was a key trend on the spring/summer catwalks. Designers put a new twist on an old trend with large cat spots and neon zebra print. To update your wardrobe for spring/summer look for leopard print shoes in on-trend styles such as loafers or flatforms. There are so many ways to try out animal print so have a bit of fun with it.
Whether you opt for nautical, colour or print there is so much choice this spring/summer, and women’s shoes are a great way to update your wardrobe without maxing out the credit card.
