A Smile's Gift

How do you take a single moment of eternity

Wrap it. Place it in a box

Keep it safe

For the infinite remainder of time

 

If Life means eternal existence

Forever for our souls

Can one moment be special

Above all others

The most sacred of the sacred

A gift by which others are measured

And therefore lessened

 

Last night when you smiled

I felt such a moment

And I savored it

Wrapped it

Placed it in a box

Never to be opened

For such a memory can never truly be closed
