I'm more surprised, then my friend list that I'm ready to write about this today. Today I was asked my opinion about food wagons and where they should be located. I'll be honest its not an easy answer, as we all know not all food wagons are unhealthy.
Why is this an issue? Food wagons could be required to be 1500 feet from public elementary, middle and high schools from 6 am to 6 pm on school days. Pot must be 600 feet from schools. I guess the question is which is a bigger problem pot or junk food.
What next ban McDonald's and the other fast food places, as my biggest problem with this plan in California is its only food trucks that would be banned. Young people would just go to McDonald's or the grocery store to buy junk food.
I think as a parent its my responsibility to teach my daughter that there is nothing wrong with junk food, but you have to eat healthy food every day. Potato chips and other junk food shouldn't be looked at as being a bad food all the time. We live once and should enjoy our time by having a snack, but in moderation.
What do you think should food wagons have the same rights as McDonald's and the grocery stores? Are food wagons causing people to be overweight? Should parents be doing a better job of teaching their children what is the right way to eat?

I think we need to concentrate on teaching better food choices, instead of passing laws to make people eat 'right.' What's wrong for one may be just what the doctor ordered for the next. :)
