 This is a continuation of the Tuesday edition.  I will attempt to bring more Gather authors to your attention in this post.  I do hope you will check out the Tuesday edition as well. 

What Is Happening Today On Gather ~ Tuesday March 06, 2012

I have been thinking about starting the author live chats back up. As you know they were a huge success for two years. I had to take some time off due to my health but really need the uplifting that I received from hosting them. With this in mind, I am asking for your opinion on a few of my concerns. I cannot host them on Friday nights as I did in the past.

  1. What day is best for you to attend a live chat with an author?
  2. What time is best for you? Please state EST etc.
  3. What is your favorite genre of book?
  4. What author would you like to see hosted?
  5. Would you be more willing to attend a live chat with author if there was a chance you could win a free book?
  6. Would you like to see a certain genre week of live chats, such as Sci-Fi week, Christian Fiction week, Adult book week, etc?
  7. Have you ever attended a live chat on gather that was hosted by me?
  8. Would you attend a live chat with the Gather Writing Essential member editors?
  9. Do you try to support the authors in the Gather community?
  10. Would you like for me to approach authors outside the gather community for a live chat?

 

You guessed it, this post is all about authors in the Gather community.

 

 

 AN UPDATE ON OUR TRIP TO ISRAEL



I had the privilege of knowing  Clifford N.  before he was a published author.  I mean, he had published lots of things but not a book. Now he has three published.  I am so proud to know this wonderful man.  He is not just an author but a wonderful person as well.

 Dianna Doles-Petry  is an amazing poet and I thought since National Poetry month was rapidly approaching, it was appropriate to tell you about her. 
Dianna has not been active on gather for over a month but I am in hopes she will return if all of us visit her posts and let her know we miss her.

 

 

 Dianna is the author of Echoes of a Woman's Soul, and Memories.  This amazing book touched my heart so much that I bought one for my mother and sister as well.  Diana is from the same state as I am and yet I have have never met her. 

 

Have you been to the Blue Bell Bed & Breakfast?  If you have, then you have probably met author  Sherrie H.
She owns the B&B and still finds time to write.  She has several books already published.

 There are many many more authors in the Gather community.  Gather just is not cooperating with my post so I will have to stop for now.  This post is a continuation of the Tuesday edition and I hope you will find it very helpful.

 

Did you know that  Kasey Klein  was a published author?  I know he has two published books and maybe more.  He posts many of his stores on gather as well.  I hope you will check them out.

 david f. is one of those authors who has the ability to scare the "hebegebies" out of the reader.  I read one of his books and was so scared that I could not go to sleep until I finished it.  I had to have closure.  Even my dog was scared.  Have you read any of David Fingerman's books?

Where To Find Things On Gather

Do you often get confused when you are looking for something in particular? You are not alone, it seems that we all forget where things are when we don't access them on a daily basis.



There is a wonderful post written by Gather support Chuck McGuire. It has just about everything you need to know in a simple to read format.

Need Help

In an attempt to get your questions and problems taken care of in a timely manner, Gather has a staff of customer support agents just for your problems. However, keep in mind that they cannot help you if you don't tell them what is going on.

Please refer all your questions, concerns, and feedback to the official Gather HELP FORM.

The Gather staff will respond (if necessary) by email. The Gather Help Desk will be used for important announcements so feel free to check it out from time to time.

Keep In Mind that Gather will email you, at your regular email account NOT your Gather email

Hey Kasey.

I know many members were unaware that you are an author. This week, I am attempting to get the word out about just a few of the authors that are in the gather community. There are more than I could ever promote though. I will do the best I can.

By the way, I miss your sales clerks posts. I always loved those because I know what it is like to deal with the public.

Don't get me wrong. I would promote gather authors to the best of my ability but there have been many who have been requesting chats with authors who are not members of gather. I wonder if they would stay after they found out what a gold-mine gather is for authors and readers alike.

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. Your views are always important to me. I know sometimes you may not realize that but it is true.

My answer to #10 applies just to me, Connie. I would not be upset if other authors were included; it's just that I personally would not be interested. Of course other authors are promoted on Gather. Sheila Deeth keeps us informed on many books by non-Gather authors with her insightful reviews, for example.

Connie, I got to agree with John. I have tried to keep all my book reviews for Gather authors, even if I have to find them and convince them to join Gather. I have read so many bad books until I found some of the Gather authors.

I love what you're doing and maybe you're right - maybe it'll pull in other great writers that realize they should join Gather.

I think a live chat with the WE editors is a very much needed chat. I am in hopes it will let the members get to know the editors on a more personal level. Who would have known you scooped cat poop!!! LOL

The Thursday post will spotlight more authors. I think everyone will be amazed to find out there are many authors in the community who do not promote their own work. They are so humble.

Oh you are good. I was wondering if anyone was going to venture that guess. Yes there are at least two gather members/authors who are related to "Frost"

You never cease to amaze me dear friend. Thank you for the spotlight above. Our trip is shaping up very nicely and we are getting more excited about traveling with Gather folks. What an opportunity to meet and make new friends.

Gosh, I wish you were well enough to travel with us Connie. I suspect there would be many Gatherites who would want to spend 10 days with you. Especially if it were in the Land of our Lord's life and ministry.

Oh Clifford, you have no idea how badly I would love to go. There is a tour two times a year with members of our church too. They say once you have walked where the Savior walked, you will never be the same again. Wow!!

I wish I could go with you and the gather folk. :) Take lots of photos and share them. I can't wait to see and read all about it.

Weekends are not good for me either but maybe one Saturday a month would work.

I am really considering Tuesday. I can't do Friday anymore and I get tired really easily now.

It's the time zone thing that makes the weekend a bit better for me. I'm on Atlantic time (an hour later than EST) so generally I'd be off the computer when the weeknight chats were happening.

I know I'm late to the party. We have had a busy start to our March. Saw Wicked this afternoon at the Gammage Auditorium in Tempe. The girls are now on spring break I may have more time to be on gather. I think Wednesday would work for me to attend live chats. Not sure though things are very busy here right now.
