Rumor has it Robert Pattinson is getting squirrelly. At least he might be getting that way soon if he stars in Sir Paul McCartney's new movie. As the world now knows, the Twilight heart-throb and his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, recently had lunch with the legendary former Beatle in Paris, and there's speculation that McCartney's upcoming film project was the hot topic of discussion at their table.
On March 5, Robsten lunched with rock royalty in the person of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney at La Cuisine restaurant at Le Royal Monceau Hotel. According to Hollywood Life, Rob and McCartney may have discussed the animated film McCartney is making from his own children's novel, High in the Woods. It seems Sir Paul is desperately seeking a leading man to play the leading... squirrel.
No, that's not a misprint. High in the Clouds is the story of a young orphaned squirrel named Wirral and his adventures on an island called Animalia. There's speculation that Sir Paul wants R-Pattz to play Wirral. So far none of the parts have been cast, but Rob Minkoff of Lion King fame is already on board as director, and Caroline Thompson of Edward Scissorhands will write the screenplay.
The starring role in an animated feature will certainly be a new acting challenge for Robert Pattinson who seems like the kind of guy who's always up for new adventures. Of course, if the story is true, and Rob takes the role of Wirral, what will his twihards say?
