Getting Kay to the Party
In my time-travelling 1967 Impala, I happily stared at the glowing dashboard blips, riding the time-storm towards 2012. The Flying Monkey party balloons, Hulk Hogan cake and Alka-Seltzer were stowed in the truck, along with the lard, petticoats, dried peas, and spatula I used for my historic disguise. I glanced over at the napping Kay; it had been a long week for both of us.
For me, it started as a time travel joy ride to 1879, until I stumbled across Kay being held for ransom in the clutches of Dr. Evil and his mummy hoard. After two unsuccessful attempts to pay him off with Canadian money, I knew I’d have to stage a daring rescue.
I recruited a group of rag-tag urchins and sailors (don’t ask) and we bravely stormed the fashionable townhouse where Dr. Evil held Kay prisoner. A few chopped up mummies and three laser-cannon fights later, she had been rescued. Unfortunately, Dr. Evil escaped, but I did manage to get in the last word before he disappeared (it was behoove).
Yes, the week had been packed with unforeseen trouble, but it was worth it. Kay was safe and would make Monday’s 100th Shortie celebration after all.
Write a pleasant tale of traveling in time to rescue Kay M., who is being held by a villain. Get the last word against the villain if possible. No insulting Kay or Tracy, no revenge, and no western themes.
