A friend of mine recently started making ginger tonic. I guess it's somewhere between ginger ale and ginger beer-- it's got a real ginger kick, much more than anything you'll find under the labels of Seagrams or Canada Dry, hah!
While my friend, Henrique, lives far, far away, he sometimes comes to visit this state as he did live here for a little while. He had a visit at the beginning of February, and brough me some of his delicious ginger beverage to try!
It was good stuff! Sharp, certainly. This is going to probably sound a little weird, but it reminded me a lot of the pickled ginger you get with sushi-- but in a good way! That probably doesn't sound like something that should be a beverage, but this was really tasty stuff. Â He also does a spicier version, which I had a sip of-- good, but I'll stick with the regular one! And then he does a REALLY spicy version, too, but I didn't try that one and I think I'm content with that choice ;)
I felt honored; this was the first bottle cracked open on the East Coast!

If you're curious, you can see his website here! (Can you spot me on there? ;)

Awesome. Have you heard of Blenheim ginger ale? It's got a kick to it as well. That guy looks like a riot! Glad you enjoyed it!
And yeah, Henrique is pretty hilarious!
