It was a gorgeous day yesterday so I decided to answer the prompt, "Fluid" for Gather's "Don't Forget Your Camera" group click here for more info I was curious to see what kind of results I could get with my camera, (Nikon Coolpix S8100 purchased at Costco) especially after seeing what Sandra H. did with her cool water shots. The first thing I tried was water flowing in the kitchen sink. I like how it came out. It looks like a female figure but reminds me of the Oscar award.

Later, I went outside to see what could be done with the garden hose. The best I could get was drips on the blueberry bush. The close up effect on the water was achieved by cropping. Highlighting and shadows in Picasa were also used to make the pictures pop.

The bright afternoon sunlight in our guest room enhanced the pouring of water out of a measuring cup into a stainless steel bowl. It worked but in the end my favorite results came from pouring the water into the crystal bowl.

Themes and prompts provide a fun way to experiment with my imagination, camera, and editing tools. Some day I might invest in a better camera and learn how to be a serious photographer.

Thank you submitting to Gathers Luminous Writers and Artists. now featured.
I like your photos, each one is very unique and you had fun.
Thank you so much for sharing with Animal & Nature photos, videos and posts.
So it turns out that the wedding in NJ is not so close to NYC...like fiftly miles but I will keep you updated with our plans.
Anyway, I was thinking of folding the challenge group but you've given me some more insight on how to offer the challenge. I will think about it and hope there is still enough life here on Gather to actually step up to a challenge. I always have a few who go out of their way to create something for a beautiful - but most just reach into their archives and pull up something that works.
That's not a challenge and that's why when Kat and I started this group we wanted only new photos. Thanks for bringing this post to my attention. You should have been one of the winners.
If I continue the group, I will ask for photos only - you can add as much text as you want. It just seems easier for a "photo" Challenge if the photos are right in our face and can't be missed.
I love what you did.
