Justin Bieber is looking to gain something more than record sales with his new single. He is hoping to gain respect as a singer as well. Boyfriend will debut on March 26th.
According to a report from MTV, Justin certainly isn't looking to lose even one fan from his rather young fan base, but hopes to impress some older listeners with his new tunes.
"It's really, really different," Justin says of his new sound. "And it's new; it's not the same thing everyone's used to hearing right now on the radio. It's really exciting for me, 'cause I'm able to break out of my shell and show my fans what I'm all about and show other people who might not like my music that maybe they can like my music."
Justin's voice has definitely matured over the past year or two and it even sounds like he may have been working with a voice coach. There's a substance to his sound that wasn't there when he first broke onto the music scene. It's very encouraging for those sort-of fans who are sitting on the fence as to whether they want to call themselves bonafide fans or not. His album Believe--from which Boyfriend will be excerpted--is said to be nothing like the Baby and Never Say Never singer has ever done.
"I'm not trying to lose any of my young fans," Justin Bieber says. "I'm not trying to lose any of my fans, I'm just trying to gain fans, and I think that's the best way to do it. Rather than try to grow up and lose your fans, you can get better and evolve and gain respect from more people."
Justin already has a lot of respect, even from those who may not be fans of his music. His generous heart and gentlemanly actions have won the respect of people around the world. Even those who don't know Justin's music love to see him together with his sweetheart Selena Gomez and to learn of the old-fashioned dates the two of them enjoy.
Will you be listening when Justin Bieber's new single Boyfriend is released on March 26th? Will you hear it with an open mind? That's what the Biebs is hoping for--that even you might be one of his newest fans.
