While political critism heats up in an election year, some are saying that Mrs. Obama is like Marie Antoinette. The Obamas take expensive vacations and tell Americans what to eat and how we should save money on light bulbs while they play and romp.
This president has played golf 90 times since coming to office. The President, the First Lady, and their kids went to Spain which allegedly cost us 10 million dollars, and then they went to Hawaii which cost us over 4 million dollars. Mrs. Obama has expensive taste.
The problem is not so much the cost but the perceived extravagance. I heard the whole bill is around 40 million dollars for Mrs. Obama to take her family and friends on a wonderful vacation, but Americans are paying for it, while we lose our homes, jobs, and self-worth, the Obamas who made 5.5 million dollars last year, pretend to care about the people.
I read also that she is being compared to Marie Antoinette. Let them eat cake. Let the Obama adminstration handle our economy, stop the wars, and stay home.
Tell the Obamas they are in the White House to help us, not to help themselves to world wind vacations with our money and their friends.

And how much money are the GOP candidates spending as they tour the country? They do get Secret Service protection and we pay for that protection.
The Obamas are trying to help middle class as lower class Americans. They are not advocating tax breaks for the rich or threatening the existence of needed programs like Unemployment Insurance and Social Security. Americans need Affordable health care.
Think about it. Who is threatening the people of this nation? It is not the Obamas.
add to all the vacations, all the play dates to shoot hoops, and parties, then the number of guest spots on television and radio, press conferences, photo ops, speechs, and think of the time it takes to play golf that often. plus this isnt the local city owned course, and its not just around the corner.

then he wants us to drive a volt ... which at extra 20m to buy it, even with the lower gas costs, is more expensive to own and operate than a caddilac.
my brain always goes to numbers, and usually break even analysis.
even when you ignore the 7m or so the government chips in, the gas savings, takes 200m miles to offset the purchase price, compared to a slightly bigger, regular engine car, like the vibe.
then throw in the cost of replacing all the batteries, which they say will be every 100m miles, at a cost estimated to be 3 to 12m - and you never save enough compensate.

Like many conseervatives of today, she was not aware of the plight of the poor people right at her doorstep.
Look up the diamond necklace affair. While she may not have been guilty of any wrong doing, the scandal tarnished the monarcy. That plus the expense of wars (which she had no part in creating.) brought down an empire.
it is not that conservatives do not see the plight of the poor - that is incredibly false. conservatives do many times more for charity than liberals (of their own money).
the problem is, the solutions involve a small amount of tough love, with a large amount of self-help tools, and a tiny amount of charity.
liberals, wanting to keep the poor enslaved to them, make them dependent 100% on charity, under the pretention of 'helping'.
in short, the right gives their own advise, time, and money.
the left gives other peoples money, to buy the time needed to distribute it - forget advise.
At one time everyone is an innocent child. Are you saying that Marie had no idea that everyone was not rich? Did she not know of the extreme poverty in the cities in which she lived? Did she never look out of her carriage as she traveled? Was she unaware of the difference between how she lived and how others in her nation lived? How do you account for her innocence?
Michelle is doing things to help children. Michelle became very well educated and worked hard in doing so. I have to believe that she knows quite a bit about poverty.

look at the obamas net worth, and income - if they paid even 10% of the cost - they would be bankrupt.
the huge numbers prove who paid, and it wasnt them.
the cost of secret service, and securing all the hotels, streets, tourist stops, etc, would bankrupt them 10 times over - forget the 10's and 100's millions spent on 2,3,4, and 5 jets to transport them (seperately many times), the kids, the dog, the agents, the 'invited guests', the press agents, secretaries, hair stylists. make up artists, chefs, and dozens of others that simply had to go with them!
