The Indiana toddler who was found in a field 10 miles from her home after the damaging tornadoes has died according to the hospital. It was such a miracle that Angel Babcock, who was 14 months old, survived the horrible tornado outbreak, and to hear she has died is disheartening.
The baby was from New Pekin, Ind., and when the Indiana toddler was found, she was rushed to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky where she was in critical condition. Angel suffered neck and back injuries during the tornado that violently destroyed her family's mobile home. Ultimately, family members decided to take her off life support and she died.
The baby's siblings and both parents perished in the violent tornado outbreak that has killed dozens and destroyed untold amounts of property in the past week. What an awful situation this has been for the midwest. Losing this little girl had to hurt even more because it was so astonishing that she had survived in such unbelievable circumstances.
The human toll of these storms has been horrible, and the communities affected by the tornadoes will have many months and years of cleaning up and healing to do. It is going to be a difficult task.
