After reading Callie by the Bay, I have now become a Tracy Fabre fan. Callie had befriended her neighbor, Danny, and his kid Emmy, knowing Danny had been accused of murdering his wife. The real killers were found and jailed. But, a scar was left on Danny and Emmy. Callie helped both of them throughout the murder investigation, gaining a strong tie to Danny and Emmy. But, the investigator that helped them, attracted Callie. Callie’s decision was to marry Danny and be a step mother to Emmy, which I believe she never regretted, but there was than chemical attraction to the investigator.
This story is about a neighbor that actually did kill his wife and son. She brings the reader into the story and I found myself rooting for Callie, both because she is brave, stupid and gets into situations. She helps control Danny’s moods, helps Emmy over her trauma and enjoys this responsibility. But, she does get herself into trouble. This time, she found herself confronted by the killer.
This book is a combination of intrigue, suspense and romance. Tracy has a wonderful way of including romance, but never lets details interrupt the story. Frankly, I had to read this book in one setting. It’s very rare for me, but I actually dreamed about some of her characters the night that I read her book. This book gets a high recommendation from me.
I bought this ebook on Amazon for $3.99 which was well worth the price.

I remember when you won the book. It was at a chat I hosted.
I was so happy to learn that all her books are now available as ebooks and I got em all now.
It's hard enough to read these posts, but I can't read an entire book on the computer.
I have a Nook and I love it!
I was desparate to read one of A. F. Stewarts books and it wasn't an Amazon ebook, so I managed to download it and convert it. My Kindle will accept a .txt file, so I just cut and pasted it.
If you want e-books just get the Kindle Fire (assuming you already have an amazon account), it does everything an iPad does at a fraction of a percentage of the cost. Personally I'm sticking with actual books, you never need to worry about a battery and to me anyway the interface is less staining to the eye considering I already spend 2/3rd's of the day in front of a computer.
The book's wonderful.
Kudos to you, Tracy.
Yes, no one could ever replace you. I love you with all my heart. HUGS.
Anyway thanks VERY much. I'm glad you liked it and it's a big compliment that you read it in one sitting. All authors love that. :-)
You are awesome. I think I should make the next Shortie prompt about paying homage to you. ;-)
I believe I've read all of your books in one setting. They're that good. It's hard on my body and business (which I've been known to put off), which means that you're tops.
Oh, if you do that prompt, you know the members will eat me alive (which could be fun). Most likely, you won't receive many responses to the challenge. Now that I'm responsible for WWE, I truly appreciate all the work you put into Genre Shorties. Thanks!
I can do a prompt which somehow features you without putting you at everyone's mercy. :-)
BUT I know about it now. :-)
I don't mind if you put me at their mercy - it would probably be a lot of fun. Assuming, of course, that you receive any responses. Remember, we're talking about little old me.
