The "storm" refers to any time which seems quiet but which will very soon be followed by something unpleasant happening.

So you are talking in generalities. Storms could include: weather, economic, life events, illness, accident, emotion, geopolitical, etc.

We are in a "Cosmic Season" (reference the Mayan Calendar and other Prophecy) ... a Cosmic Alignment that cyclically introduces both material effects as well as Spiritual affects ... those who prepare mentally will make it through the best.

I've just come to understand lately that our theological expectations for coming times are kind of alike but opposite. That was a surprise. It was very interesting.

We should never try to outguess God. Nor should we try to thwart His plan. If God wants to punish the Moslems and reward the Jews then that's what will happen. Don't forget He has already punished the Jews, now it's time for the Moslems. Anyone who doesn't believe in God can keep on watching the nightly news and act surprised.

Thomas, even though I want Newt, I felt restrained by God not to pray for that.
End times seems so imminent (& I've never felt that way before.) I sensed God putting the people of His choice in high places and low. No selfish prayers. He alone knows the bad and good that are coming and He will see that His perfect will is done.
It is strange how many are feeling the same thing.

God is not political; He does not take sides. Politics, as presently practiced, are inefficient, ineffective, divisive, corrupt and undemocratic. There IS a better way, and, yes, it IS democratic.

Thanks Thomas. I don't think of him as caring about one party or the other. But America acknowledged God at first. And there was much prayer from those that knew Him. (Guess work :) I do still think God blesses (even though people don't deserve it) people and disciplines them. Always for good. Always that they might seek Him.
But if the end is near, a one world government surely is in the works. So I figured He would want to leave someone willing to do so. He could do it anyway He chose. Turn anyone's heart that direction, but He seems to usually work in government through the acts of people, even if He caused it :)
I agree with what you are saying about government. Even that democracy is the better government of those that man can set up.

Some wise words there, Glome. Yes, the "end" is at hand, but it's not "the end of the world" literally. By "end" is meant the end of one era, or cycle, and the beginning of a new one. As I said before it's darkest just before the dawn. We are approaching the dawn of a new age. It will be a day that is not followed by night.

Oh I see what you mean. We don't think the night has come yet. We think the period of tribulation will be painful and will divide those that want God from those that do not. Like you said, it only lasts for an age ... after that Christ returns. But before He come there is tremendous turning of people to the Lord. "All things work together for good to those who love God, to those that were called according to his promise." I don't think we share that verse ... but maybe can agree on it.

Whatever happens, it will be all right. He is Love and Light and will do all things well. Agreed :)

Common sense is a gift from God. It enables us to communicate effectively with our fellowman no matter where he may live or what language he may speak. Common sense, used by all parties in a dispute, can go a long way toward solving problems of whatever kind they may be.
