Dr Seuss "The Lorax" was published (I think) around 1970. I have to admit I never read it - in 1970 I was too old and when I had kids later, I never thought about it. So now the movie is out.
I believe it is ironic that "The Lorax" is about conservation. There is so many promotions and toys for "The Lorax", it misses the point of the book. If the message is to keep the earth clean and green, then why all the stuff?
Yes, I know a movie is supposed to make money. Especially when they hire well known actors / singers to do the voices. (I guess voice actors can't get any work). But it definitely seems like a mixed message is being sent with this movie and the tie ins.
Obviously, your mileage may vary
