I noticed on Tuesday night that I only had enough Metformin for another few days and I don't have any more refills so I called the Doctor's office first thing Wednesday morning. I explained that I needed a refill and that I realized the doctor would probably want to see me but my insurance will not pay for anything diabetes related because I am under a pre-existing waiting period until April.
The nurse told me they would give me 15 days worth of pills but I was going to have to come in. Honestly over a 30 day period they are going to make me pay out of pocket for everything. I really don't think one month is going to make much of a difference. I assured her that my blood sugar are under control and everything is fine, but she told me I had to make an appointment right away. This kind of made me angry but she wouldn't give me the pills until I made the appointment so I did. They say they need 24 hours to call in prescription refills so I waited till tomorrow morning which was actually 48 hours and I went to Walmart to get my pills. They told me nothing was called in.
I called the doctor's office and was given the nurse's voice mail and I still have not heard back yet. I called Walmart and still nothing has been called in. They also sent a fax to the doctor's office yesterday. Of course I am now out of pills. Now I have no pill t take with my breakfast. I am just lucky my diabetes is not that bad.
I am drinking a lot of water and my breakfast will have to pretty much be all protein so I don't raise my blood sugar with the food, but this is all very frustrating, not to mention even if they do finally call the prescription in today going to Walmart today is going to be very inconvenient because we have things we have to do today and tomorrow is of course Sunday so I may have to go all weekend without any pills.
Not to mention I will need to monitor my blood sugar very closely today which will mean using more testing strips then usual, and testing strips are very expensive. So frustrating.
