Kindle Advice?

I've decided to take the plunge and get a Kindle. The main reason is to keep track of my legal research, because Westlaw will send cases and statutes directly to the Kindle. I figure it is a good way to go paperless with that type of thing AND keep it all organized and easy-to-read. I'll also use it for some leisure reading here and there and for traveling (magazines, newspapers mainly).

Anyway...I think I will get the Kindle Touch, but for those of you with Kindles...is it worth it to pay the extra $50 to get the 3G? Pros? Cons? Please let me know your thoughts!

I have the Kindle Keyboard 3G and I love it. The main difference between getting the 3D and not is that if you have the 3G, you can automatically send books (and papers or whatever else) to the Kindle without having to hook it up to your computer.

I find it's been a big help to not have to have my Kindle connected to update newspapers daily-they just arrive because my Kindle is hooked up to my wireless at home(it's super easy to set up). If you can swing it, I highly recommend getting the 3G regardless of what Kindle model you get.

Sure! You can actually start getting books now if you want. They have a Kindle for PC app that's a free download from Amazon and you can start getting books (I found a bunch that were either free or on super sale). Then when you get your kindle, you can upload them onto your Kindle all at once(you can also read them on the computer, although I found that difficult).

It's a great way to get new books that are on sale temporarily, then add them to your Kindle when you get it.
